Teaching is no longer limited to textbooks and traditional classroom methods. Today’s classrooms are shaped by digital tools, interactive platforms, and evolving learning behaviours. As technology becomes a part of everyday student life, future teachers are expected to adapt, innovate, and integrate these tools effectively into their teaching practices.
With this changing reality, an AI for Teachers Training Program was conducted for B.Ed final year students from the University of Kerala College of Teacher Education. The program focused on helping aspiring educators understand how Artificial Intelligence can support modern teaching, improve classroom engagement, and enhance learning outcomes.
The session explored how AI is already present in educational environments through smart learning tools, content generation platforms, automated assessments, and personalized learning systems. Participants were introduced to practical ways of using AI for lesson planning, preparing teaching materials, designing assessments, and managing classroom activities more efficiently.
Vishnu Prasad, Senior HR Professional and UNDP-Certified Soft Skill & Life Skill Trainer, led the program through practical demonstrations and real classroom scenarios. The training focused on simplifying AI concepts and showing how these tools can be used as supportive resources rather than complex technologies.
A key aspect of the session was the emphasis on responsible and effective use of AI in education. Participants discussed how to balance technology with traditional teaching methods while maintaining creativity, critical thinking, and academic integrity.
As the program progressed, students gained confidence in using digital tools and understood how AI can enhance their role as educators. The interaction encouraged them to stay updated, adaptable, and ready to meet the expectations of modern classrooms.
