Children are growing up surrounded by technology. Smartphones, videos, voice assistants, games, and digital platforms are already part of their everyday life. They may not recognize it as Artificial Intelligence, but they are interacting with technology in ways that shape how they learn, think, and respond inside classrooms.
This shift is redefining the role of teachers and the expectations placed on them. To keep learning engaging and meaningful, future educators need to understand how technology can support teaching, improve interaction, and help them connect with students who are already comfortable in digital environments.
With this perspective, a 2-day AI for Teachers certification program was conducted at Kerala University College of Teacher Education for aspiring educators preparing to step into modern classrooms. The sessions explored how AI can support lesson planning, classroom engagement, creative teaching strategies, and student participation.
Vishnu Prasad, Senior HR Professional and UNDP-Certified Soft Skill & Life Skill Trainer from Team Inspire by Srishti Innovative, led the program through practical demonstrations, examples, and discussions that connected technology with real classroom situations. The focus remained on helping teachers see AI as a supportive tool that enhances teaching rather than replacing traditional methods.
As the sessions progressed, participants began to see AI not as something complex, but as a resource that can make teaching more interactive, adaptive, and student-focused. The program encouraged future teachers to stay curious, confident, and ready to evolve along with changing learning environments and expectations.
